Flatbush Y Seniors plant with Pollinators

On a chilly March day, Silver Sneakers participants and staff at the Flatbush Y got a jump start on the growing season.

Using recycled milk jugs and seed and soil provided by the Pollinators, our new gardening friends learned how to make mini green houses for starting vegetable and flower seeds. It was a hands on activity all the way. A big bonus for us was that we Pollinators got to learn about these gardeners' experiences and expertise growing in Brooklyn and in countries far from here.
