It's September in Brooklyn and that means Spotted Lanternflies are beginning to create egg nests.
Thankfully, this makes these invasive pests sluggish, easy to spot and easier to kill. While SLF are notorious for making egg masses on almost anything - from car bumpers to pallets - they prefer the Tree of Heaven (pictured).
If found, these destructive pests can be killed by stomping or crushing. An old shoe does the job well.
